The visit to Thailand from 10/06/2025 to 15/06/2025 was to participate in a Business Matching Activity under the BIMSTEC–ASEAN Economic Development Project. The objective was to enhance trade connectivity and add product value among member countries. The Chairman engaged with business leaders, policymakers, and port authorities to explore opportunities for collaboration. Discussions focused on improving logistics chains and facilitating cross-border trade. The visit highlighted the importance of regional integration and efficient port connectivity. It also promoted Chittagong Port as a key gateway in the region. The outcomes are expected to boost trade and economic cooperation.
From 23/09/2024 to 24/09/2024, the Chairman visited Thailand to attend the Inaugural South Asia Regional Ports CEO Roundtable and Working Group Meeting. The purpose was to engage with regional port leaders and discuss shared challenges, opportunities, and collaborative strategies. The forum provided a platform to exchange ideas on port connectivity, trade facilitation, and sustainable development. Participation strengthened regional cooperation and opened avenues for partnerships among South and Southeast Asian ports. The Chairman was able to highlight Chittagong Port’s role in regional trade. This engagement is expected to enhance collaboration and improve integration within regional maritime networks.
The Chairman of Chittagong Port visited Singapore from 19/09/2024 to 22/09/2024 to participate in the PSA Port Tour. The visit aimed to gain firsthand knowledge of advanced port operations, automation systems, and terminal management practices at one of the world’s leading ports. Exposure to PSA’s efficient cargo handling and digital logistics solutions provided valuable insights for improving operational efficiency at Chittagong Port. The tour also facilitated discussions with port officials on best practices in capacity optimization and service delivery. Learning from Singapore’s globally competitive port model supports long-term strategic planning. The visit is expected to contribute to enhancing productivity, reducing turnaround time, and modernizing port infrastructure in Bangladesh.

Interaction with international experts and peers enriched understanding of global maritime challenges. The training emphasized innovation and adaptability in port operations. From 19/05/2025 to 24/05/2025, the Chairman visited Japan to attend a training program on Port Policy and Management organized by JICA. The Chairman observed best practices in safety, disaster resilience, and environmental management. The training also facilitated technical discussions with Japanese experts. From 23/06/2025 to 27/06/2025, the Chairman visited the USA to attend a Senior Level Training on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) organized by IFC in Palo Alto, California. The training focused on structuring, financing, and managing PPP projects in infrastructure development. The Chairman gained knowledge on risk sharing, investment models, and regulatory frameworks. Interaction with global experts provided practical insights into successful PPP implementations. The visit emphasized the importance of private sector engagement in port development. These learnings are crucial for attracting foreign investment to Chittagong Port. The impact will be reflected in enhanced infrastructure financing and project execution.
From 19/11/2025 to 23/11/2025, the Chairman visited Switzerland and France to inspect TIL/MEDLOG terminals and participate in the signing ceremony of a Non-Binding MOU. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration for the development of Bay Terminal 3 (MPT) and Chittagong Container Terminal (CCT). The Chairman reviewed terminal operations and logistics systems. Meetings with stakeholders facilitated discussions on investment and technical cooperation. The MOU signing marked a significant step towards future partnerships. The visit reinforced Chittagong Port’s commitment to modernization. The impact will be seen in improved infrastructure and international collaboration.
The Chairman visited China from 03/12/2025 to 05/12/2025 to attend the Green and Efficient Ports – Connectivity Investment Conference. The Chairman visited Japan again from 07/10/2025 to 09/10/2025 to attend the IAPH World Ports Conference 2025. This global event brought together port leaders, policymakers, and industry experts. The conference focused on innovation, sustainability, and resilience in port operations. The Chairman participated in discussions on global trends and future challenges in maritime trade. Networking opportunities strengthened international cooperation and partnerships. The visit enhanced Chittagong Port’s global visibility. The insights gained will support strategic planning and adoption of international best practices.
